Card Vault keeps the greeting cards people send you. It collects nothing about you. There is no server behind the app, no account to create, and no analytics of any kind.
When you add a card, the app stores the photos of it, a thumbnail of each one, the occasion, the date, the sender's name, any notes you type, and the text that was recognised in the images. All of it is written to the app's own database on your iPhone.
If you are signed in to iCloud, that database also syncs to the private database of your personal iCloud account, so your cards appear on your other devices. That copy sits in your Apple account under Apple's terms. The developer of Card Vault has no access to it and cannot read your cards.
Text recognition runs entirely on your iPhone, using Apple's Vision framework. Your cards are never uploaded anywhere for processing.
A card you delete goes to Recently Deleted for 30 days, where you can restore it, and is then removed permanently. You can also delete it permanently straight away.
Deleting Card Vault removes the copy of your cards on that iPhone. If you were syncing with iCloud, the copy in your iCloud account stays there until you remove it, which you can do under Settings, then your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage.
Exporting a card as a PDF or as images hands the files to the iOS share sheet, and where they go from there is up to you. The app writes those files to a temporary folder and deletes them once the share sheet closes, or at the next launch if something interrupted it.
Card Vault is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included, and has no ads, no in-app purchases and no links out to other services.
If the app ever handles data differently, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
